Penguin Encounter

For our Anniversary Brady and I spent the weekend in Salt Lake.
While we were down there we were able to go to the
Living Planet Aquarium for the Penguin Encounter!
Brady gave me a pass to go in the room with the Penguins
for Christmas and this was the first chance we were able to use it.
It was so much fun! We had to wear big coats
and shoes that did not have open toes
because of how cold it is in the room. The penguins came into the room through the
door that opens up into where they live.
They do the encounter at the same time during the
day so the penguins would line up outside the door
to get in and would just wait there around that time.
They had toys for the penguins to play with. This penguin had it in for Brady!
Brady would not open up the toy chest for
the penguin so it bit him! It was so funny!
You can see Brady's shorts in the picture. This penguin liked the tennis ball because
he sits on it like it is an egg!
The penguins would run back and forth
in and out of the room. They would show
off by jumping into the water.
There are 17 species of penguins,
these are the Gentoo Penguins.
You can tell them apart because of the
white stripe going across their head.
This is the penguin expert!
She has an awesome job!I loved how close we got to be to them!
It was so much fun! Definitely a dream come true!
Maybe I will ask for another pass for
Christmas so that I can go again! Thanks Brady for such a fun experience!
You are the best!

Marcia Lynn McClure

My favorite author, Marcia Lynn McClure, came
to the American Heritage Center for a book
signing. Brady was nice enough to take me
there and stand in line with me for a very
long time so that I could get more
books signed by her.I was in ninth grade when I first met Marcia
and it was the first time that I had seen her sense then.
We had to write our name on a post it so she could
spell it correctly and when she saw my name she
stood up and gave me a big hug. It made my day that
she remembered me from way back then!
