Hogle Zoo

We went with my sister Brittany and her family to the Hogle Zoo.
This must be the month for going to the zoo!
Brooke playing in the Eagle's nest.

I liked watching the otter swim.

Xander liked the zoo. He stayed awake for the first half
but then he fell asleep.
The zoo has the Polar Bears again but we only saw one
and it was in its cage eating. I had heard that they are
usually swimming around and playing so I was sad
not to be able to see that.
 Xander's hand compared to a Tigder's paw.
It will be fun to take a picture like this next time we
go to see how much Xander has grown.

It was pretty hot and most of the animals were either asleep
or they were having their cages clean but it was still a lot of fun!
Thanks Brittany and Justin for taking us!

Xander's Baby Blessing

On July 22 Xander was able to be given a baby blessing by his dad!
We had so many family members and friends come
and support us on Xander's special day!

Grandpa Rick
Zach, Kendra, Rick, Xander, Brady, Brad, and Great Grandma Peterson.
Grandma Julie was not able to make it up for the blessing
because she had fallen and hurt her hand and foot and
was up all night in the ER!
Great Grandma Peterson
Aunt Lisa and Uncle Matthew
Aunt Brittany and Uncle Justin
My supervisor Julie
My supervisor Jen
Great Grandma Rowley and Chester
Great Grandpa Dick and Great Grandma Norma

Lydia and Brooke
This is a close up of his little outfit!
It was a really special day and I am
so glad to be able to have Xander be
apart of our Eternal family!

Matthew and Lisas's Visit

My brother and sister-in-law came for a visit from Tennessee!
Xander and I went down to Salt Lake with my mom to pick
them up from the airport. Then we met up with Brittany and
Justin and my Grandma and Grandpa for lunch.
We went to Wienerschnitzel because it is one
of Matthew's favorite places and they
do not have one in Tennessee.
On Friday my mom and dad watched all the grandkids
while we went and saw The Dark Knight Rises!
It was an awesome movie!
 Saturday was Mendon Days.
It is fun walking around the little booths
and watching all the kids chase the pigs and bunnies.
 Then we watched the Parade.
It was Xander's first parade but he ended up sleeping through it.
Even with all the sirens!
We also got in some good dance
moves playing Just Dance on the Wii!
It was so much fun having Matthew and Lisa here!
I was glad they were able to meet Xander.
We miss them so much!
Come back and visit soon!

Willow Park Zoo

For family night Brady and I took Xander to the Willow Park Zoo.
These guys just make me laugh!
It is a very tiny zoo but it is cheap to go in
and fun to walk around. Xander must have thought it
was boring because he was asleep the whole time.

Family Pictures

On July 4th we went and had some family pictures taken.
Brady usually takes most of the pictures but we
decided he needed to be in some of them where
he was not running back and forth to be in them.

I sure do love my boys!

Xander is One Month!

On July 5th Xander turned one month old.
I cannot believe he is already one month!
I don't know what we used to do without him!
At four weeks I took him in to be weighed.
He weighed 8 lbs at his 2 week appointment and at
4 weeks he weighed 9 lbs 6 oz. He is starting to get
quite the little belly and his thighs are a little thicker
but other than that he is still a skinny little thing!
Xander has been starting to make little sounds and he smiles
at us all the time. He also smiles at his animals on his mobile.
He sneezes more like I do than Brady does. He almost always
sneezes twice in a row and sometimes three times. When he sneezes
his hands go into fists and then they fly up by his face when it comes out.
He is a really good baby and he pretty much only cries
when he is getting his diaper changed. When he is crying
he does little snorts and then sticks out his lip and pouts.
He loves to stretch and sometimes it is hard to hold him because
he is wiggling around trying to get in a good stretch.
Ever since he was born he has turned his head to the right.
We have been trying since then to get him to look to the left.
He does both ways but he definitely likes looking to the right most.
He is a really good baby and he pretty much only cries when
he is getting his diaper changed. He gets excited when he
sees his binki and starts moving his head back and forth
trying to eat it but it makes it harder to get in his mouth.
He is very ticklish. Especially his feet and his back.
He sleeps very well during the night and usually goes between
four and a half and five hours before I wake him up to feed him.
Sometimes he gets so wiggly that we have to swaddle him so that he will hold still
long enough to calm down and go to sleep. He likes having his blanket.
He follows Brady and I when we walk past him and he tracks his toys.
He likes being in his car seat and going for car rides. He either watches out the
window or he instantly falls asleep. He likes music and responds to different songs.
He responds the most to the Tabernacle Choir.

We sure do love our little one!
